A24 has announced that its upcoming romantic comedy “The Drama,” starring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson, will hit theaters in North America on April 3, 2026.

The highly anticipated film marks the first on-screen collaboration between the two stars and is written and directed by Kristoffer Borgli, known for his sharp, surreal storytelling style.

Borgli, whose 2023 film Dream Scenario earned critical acclaim and landed Nicolas Cage a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor in a Comedy or Musical, returns to A24 with his fourth feature.

While the studio has kept the details of The Drama tightly under wraps, early reports suggest the story follows a couple whose seemingly perfect romance begins to unravel as their wedding day approaches.

Joining Zendaya and Pattinson in the cast are Alana Haim, Mamoudou Athie, and Hailey Gates, rounding out a lineup that blends rising talent and established screen presence.

The project reunites A24 with Ari Aster and Lars Knudsen, who serve as producers under their Square Peg banner. Borgli and Tyler Campellone are also producing through Dilemma Films in collaboration with A24.

The studio’s partnership with Square Peg has been one of Hollywood’s most successful creative pairings in recent years, yielding acclaimed titles such as Hereditary, Midsommar, Beau Is Afraid, Eddington, and Death of a Unicorn.

The Drama continues A24’s streak of auteur-driven, genre-blending projects that balance offbeat humor and emotional storytelling.

With Zendaya and Pattinson at its center, the film is already one of 2026’s most anticipated releases, marking a tonal shift for both actors who have primarily worked in intense dramas and high-concept projects in recent years.

Beyond The Drama, both stars have a busy slate ahead. Zendaya and Pattinson will reunite in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming epic “The Odyssey,” which features a powerhouse ensemble including Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong’o, and Charlize Theron.

They’ll also share the screen again in “Dune: Part Three,” with Zendaya reprising her role as Chani and Pattinson joining the acclaimed sci-fi saga for the first time.

Meanwhile, Zendaya is returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe for Spider-Man: Brand New Day and will reprise her Emmy-winning role in Euphoria Season 3.

Pattinson will next appear opposite Jennifer Lawrence in Lynne Ramsay’s Die My Love and in Lance Oppenheim’s A24 feature debut Primetime, which wrapped production earlier this year.
