Phil Robertson, star of “Duck Dynasty,” has died at 79 after battling Alzheimer’s and a blood disease.

Duck Dynasty star and Duck Commander founder Phil Robertson has died at age 79.
His daughter-in-law Korie Robertson confirmed the news on Facebook, describing Phil as a devoted man of faith who viewed death as a return to God’s kingdom.

Phil had been battling Alzheimer’s disease since at least December, as revealed on the Unashamed with The Robertson Family podcast. His son Jase also shared that Phil suffered from a worsening blood disease, leaving him in severe pain and struggling to walk.
Best known for starring on Duck Dynasty (2012–2017), Phil faced controversy in 2014 over a GQ interview that led to a temporary suspension from the show. Though A&E recently announced a reboot of Duck Dynasty, Phil’s name was noticeably absent.
The Robertson family says they will continue to honor Phil’s legacy.
RIP Phil Robertson.
