Brooks Marks reveals he’s dating “the most handsome man” on Next Gen NYC and opens up about love, distance, and past struggles with public scrutiny.
Love is blooming in the Big Apple, and Next Gen NYC star Brooks Marks is opening up about his personal life like never before.
On the June 17 episode of the Bravo series, the 25-year-old reality star revealed that he is in a committed relationship with a man named Kade, whom he described as “the most handsome man” and “the most incredible boyfriend ever.”
Fans were first introduced to Brooks on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, where he appeared alongside his mother, Meredith Marks. In Next Gen NYC, Brooks dives deeper into his life, including his new romance and the challenges that come with being in the public eye.
According to PEOPLE, Brooks recounted how he and Kade first met in Park City during the Sundance Film Festival while he was out with his mother. “Out of the corner of my eye, I saw the most handsome man,” he recalled. “We danced, like, all night long.
We had a little kiss.” That encounter sparked the beginning of a long-distance relationship, as Kade splits his time between Austin and Los Angeles.
Though the distance has its drawbacks, Brooks is committed to making it work. “So every time he’s here, I’m like, ‘What can I do to make you never want to leave again?’” he said.
The couple may not share every interest—Brooks mentioned that they haven’t played golf together because it’s not Kade’s preferred sport—but their connection seems to run deep.
The episode also featured an awkward but heartfelt moment between Brooks and his father, Seth Marks.
In an effort to connect with his son on a deeper level, Seth asked some very personal questions, including inquiries about Brooks and Kade’s sex life and “body counts.” Brooks quickly shut down the sex life conversation, saying, “That’s not something that I need to talk to my dad about.”
Seth, however, explained his intentions, saying he wanted to ensure that Brooks wouldn’t get hurt. “I just want to make sure you know that before you give him your heart completely, that it’s mutual,” he said. “I don’t want to see my kids get their hearts crushed.”
This relationship reveal comes after Brooks previously opened up about the emotional difficulty of having his sexuality discussed publicly. On the June 10 episode, he reflected on the insecurity and pressure he felt growing up in front of cameras.
“Trying to come into your own is difficult enough, but let alone when thousands of people are weighing in on it… definitely cuts a lot deeper,” he shared.
