Charlie Hunnam to play notorious killer Ed Gein in Netflix’s “Monster” Season 3.
Actor Charlie Hunnam will be playing a very famous criminal, Ed Gein, in the third season of the Netflix show “Monster.” The show’s co-creator, Ryan Murphy, shared this news during an event in Los Angeles, while promoting the second season of the show, which is about the Menendez brothers. The first season of “Monster” was about another criminal, Jeffrey Dahmer.
Ed Gein was a criminal from Wisconsin in the 1950s. He became well-known after it was discovered that he not only killed people but also dug up graves and used body parts to make things like clothing and furniture. His story inspired characters in popular movies, like Norman Bates in “Psycho” and Buffalo Bill in “Silence of the Lambs.”
This is the latest big TV role for Charlie Hunnam. He will also star in an upcoming series on Amazon called “Criminal.” Hunnam is best known for playing Jax Teller in the TV show “Sons of Anarchy,” and he has also appeared in movies like “Pacific Rim” and “The Gentlemen.”
“Monster” first came out on Netflix in 2022 and received a lot of praise, especially for the performances by Evan Peters as Dahmer and Niecey Nash as Glenda Cleveland. Peters even won a Golden Globe, and Nash won an Emmy for her role. The first season of “Monster” is one of the most-watched shows ever on Netflix.
The second season of “Monster,” which is about the Menendez brothers, will be released on September 21.
