Lily Collins’ Emily Cooper is trading the City of Light for the Eternal City in the brand-new teaser for Emily in Paris season 5, and it looks like love and chaos are following her to Italy.

The next chapter of the hit Netflix series premieres Dec. 18, with all 10 episodes dropping at once — just in time for a winter escape to Rome.

The teaser opens with Emily basking in the glow of her new romance with Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini), whom she met in season 4. Over swoon-worthy scenes of the couple exploring Rome and sharing passionate kisses, a voiceover describes their undeniable chemistry: “We start on a beautiful woman. She’s joined by a man… unable to keep their hands off each other.”

Her best friend Mindy (Ashley Park) sums it up perfectly when she tells Emily, “Rome looks so good on you.”

But it’s not all amore and Aperol spritzes. Emily is now the head of Agence Grateau Rome, and according to Netflix’s synopsis, she’ll face a fresh set of professional and romantic challenges as she adapts to life in a new city. When a bold work idea goes wrong, the fallout threatens both her career and her heart.

As Emily searches for balance, she leans into her French lifestyle and learns to tackle conflict with honesty — only for a shocking secret to test one of her closest relationships.

The upcoming season also introduces new faces, including Minnie Driver as Princess Jane, alongside returning favorites Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu (Sylvie), Samuel Arnold (Julien), Lucas Bravo (Gabriel), Bruno Gouery (Luc), William Abadie (Antoine), and Lucien Laviscount (Alfie). Emily’s Roman adventure even expands to Venice, offering fans more Italian glamour and scenic escapades.

Collins previously told The Hollywood Reporter that filming in Italy was a dream come true: “You’re still feeling that romance and passion of Europe, but you’re getting to experience a different part of history which was really fun.”

The series’ Italian detour even sparked some playful political banter — French president Emmanuel Macron joked that he would “fight hard” to keep the show in France, while Rome’s mayor Roberto Gualtieri quipped that Netflix “does not take orders from heads of state.”

Meanwhile, Bravo revealed hopes for more growth in his character after season four, while Camille Razat confirmed she won’t return as Camille.

Season 5 of Emily in Paris premieres Dec. 18 on Netflix, promising romance, reinvention, and plenty of Italian flair.
