Ice Spice, the dynamic rapper known for her chart-topping hits and energetic stage presence, delivered an unforgettable performance at the 2024 BET Awards on June 30.

The “Munch” singer, adorned in a striking white lacy-sleeved two-piece outfit with furry white boots, and her iconic red curls, captivated the audience with two tracks from her highly anticipated debut album, Y2K.

The performance kicked off with Ice Spice’s latest track, “Phat Butt.” The stage was transformed into an urban landscape, complete with a graffiti-covered garage door and a prop gas station, setting the perfect backdrop for her energetic number.

Accompanied by a troupe of male and female backup dancers, dressed in either purple letterman jackets or black leather jackets paired with cropped bikini tops, Ice Spice brought a vibrant and electrifying energy to the stage.

Dancers executed complex moves atop motorcycles, adding a thrilling element to the already dynamic performance.

Transitioning seamlessly, Ice Spice moved into her viral and humorous track, “Think You the S— (Fart).” This part of the performance was equally captivating, featuring a sexy synchronized dance routine.

The climax of the set saw two backup dancers dramatically “blow up” the gas station behind her, with a visually stunning explosion of lights and fire displayed on the screen, leaving the audience in awe.

This year’s BET Awards marked a significant milestone for Ice Spice, who is nominated for three awards: Best Female Hip Hop Artist, Best Collaboration, and Video of the Year for her hit “Barbie World” with Nicki Minaj and Aqua.

These nominations come after her memorable debut at the 2023 BET Awards, cementing her status as a rising star in the hip hop world.

In early June, the Grammy-nominated Bronx native announced the release of her debut LP, Y2K, slated for release on July 26.

Taking to social media, she shared her excitement with fans, “HIIIII >.<, Y2K ☆ THE ALBUM WILL BE DROPPING JULY 26TH !!!!” This announcement followed a teaser from November, where she flaunted a lower back tattoo with the cryptic caption, “Y2K! ?/?/24.”

The album’s cover artwork, shot by the legendary photographer David LaChapelle, was also revealed, adding to the anticipation.

LaChapelle, often referred to as “the goat” in the photography world, is known for his distinctive and bold style, making him a perfect fit for Ice Spice’s debut project.

Adding to the excitement, Ice Spice also announced her first world tour, set to kick off on July 4 in Roskilde, Denmark.

This global tour will see her traveling through Europe and the UK before returning to North America for performances in major cities including Washington, Philadelphia, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, and her hometown of New York City.

Joining her on tour will be longtime producer RIOTUSA and fellow Bronx rapper Cash Cobain as a special guest for the North American dates.

Ice Spice’s performance at the BET Awards not only showcased her musical talents but also highlighted her flair for theatricality and stage presence.
