Pop star Katy Perry recently opened up about her 3-year-old daughter Daisy Dove’s latest obsessions, sharing some sweet details that highlight the joys of parenting. Perry, 39, welcomed Daisy with her fiancé, actor Orlando Bloom, in August 2020, and the singer couldn’t be more proud of her little girl.
During her appearance on British Vogue’s “In the Bag” series, Perry shared that Daisy is currently fascinated with Hello Kitty. As she pulled out a Hello Kitty-themed watch from her purse, she explained how her daughter is “really into” the character right now. Perry even hinted that she might throw a Hello Kitty-themed party for Daisy’s upcoming fourth birthday, noting how Daisy often asks her where her beloved watch is when she misplaces it.
“It’s so cute,” Perry remarked, clearly enjoying the little quirks of her daughter’s personality.
But Hello Kitty isn’t the only thing capturing Daisy’s attention. Perry also revealed that her daughter is “super obsessed” with Peppa Pig, the popular children’s cartoon. In fact, Perry mentioned that she took on a guest role as Mrs. Leopard in an episode of the show, all to score some extra “points” with Daisy.
“I just did it so I could get points with my daughter,” Perry said with a smile, showing just how far she’s willing to go to connect with her little girl. “I need more and more and more points,” she added, emphasizing how important it is for her to be a fun and engaged mom.
Since becoming a mother, Perry has noticed a shift in what she carries around in her purse. No longer just for herself, her bag now always includes snacks, water, and a small toy for Daisy to play with. It’s a simple but telling reflection of how much her life has changed since Daisy’s arrival.
On the music front, Perry recently released her latest single, “Lifetimes,” from her upcoming album, 143, which is set to drop on September 20. Perry shared with The Sun in July that the song was inspired by Daisy, reflecting on how her daughter has filled her life with love and meaning. The singer explained that while many people search for their soulmate in a partner, for her, it came in the form of her daughter.
“It is funny how sometimes you’re looking for your soulmate in a partner. It could be a dog, your mom, your best friend, your cat … but for me, it came in the form of Daisy,” Perry said. She also shared a touching bedtime ritual she has with Daisy, where every night, she tells her daughter, “I love you,” and then asks, “Will you find me in every lifetime?” to which Daisy always replies, “Yes.”
As she juggles her music career and motherhood, it’s clear that Katy Perry finds immense joy in the little moments with Daisy, cherishing the bond they share. And with Daisy’s fourth birthday on the horizon, it sounds like there’s plenty more fun—and perhaps a Hello Kitty party—on the way.
