Kelsea Ballerini is gearing up for a whirlwind summer filled with new music, major performances, and a new role as a coach on NBC’s “The Voice.”

The country star recently caught up with PEOPLE to discuss her upcoming album, her CMA Fest performance, and her exciting coffee collaboration.

On the eve of her stadium performance at CMA Fest, Ballerini launched her limited-edition coffee blend, the Ballerini Blend, in collaboration with Original Donut Shop.

The blend quickly sold out on Keurig.com, reflecting her fans’ enthusiasm. “Other than my wake-up cup of black coffee, my go-to is always coffee, a little oatmilk, and vanilla,” she shared.

Ballerini expressed her joy at combining her love for coffee with her personal touch, creating what she calls “a happy cup.”

June 7 marked Ballerini’s return to the CMA Fest stage, an event she had to miss in 2023 due to her HEARTFIRST tour. This year, she was ready to make a big impression.

Speaking about her setlist, she revealed her excitement to perform songs from her Grammy-nominated surprise EP, “Welcome Mat,” including tracks like “Blindsided” and “Penthouse.”

She was curious to see the crowd’s reaction, particularly to the ad-lib in “Blindsided.” Her concerns were quickly alleviated as the audience enthusiastically sang along.

With CMA Fest behind her, Ballerini is focusing on her forthcoming album. She disclosed that the project is nearing completion, with half of the tracks in the mixing stage and the other half still requiring final touches. “We’re really close to being done.

And the first single is right around the corner,” she hinted.

This new album represents a significant evolution in her music career. Ballerini spoke about the challenges of following up “Welcome Mat,” a project that significantly impacted her life and career.

“I took the truth-telling and the integrity of my songwriting and I just moved it into this chapter of life,” she explained.

Her new work will delve into her experiences of being 30, navigating relationships, and balancing adult responsibilities with youthful spirit, all captured with her signature honesty.

Another exciting venture for Ballerini is her new role as a coach on the upcoming season of “The Voice,” set to air in Spring 2025.

She will join the panel alongside John Legend, Michael Bublé, and the returning Adam Levine. Filming begins next month in Los Angeles.

“I’m so excited. It’s such a new adventure,” she said. Ballerini is looking forward to the unique opportunity and the challenges it will bring.

She aims to bring a fresh perspective to her coaching role, drawing from her decade-long career while continuing to learn and grow herself.

“I really feel like I want to just be the sister more so than the coach,” she added.

When asked about her toughest competitor on “The Voice,” Ballerini didn’t hesitate to mention Adam Levine. “I feel very strongly I’m going to have to really fight Adam Levine,” she joked.

Despite the friendly rivalry, she’s received valuable advice from former coach Blake Shelton on how to handle Levine’s competitive spirit.

This busy schedule might seem overwhelming, but Ballerini is well-prepared. She shared that she has been working meticulously to ensure everything is in place for her album release and upcoming performances. “We’ve shot everything.

A million things! This feels like the most ahead of it I’ve gotten to be,” she said, emphasizing the importance of planning and preparation.

With her new album nearly complete, a sold-out coffee collaboration, and an exciting role on “The Voice,” Kelsea Ballerini is set for an eventful and productive summer.

She is eager to share her new music with fans and embark on this next chapter in her career.

Through it all, she remains grounded and committed to her craft, ready to take on new challenges and opportunities with enthusiasm and a sense of adventure.
