Do you know that famous pop star Lady Gaga has recently won a special award for her Super Bowl performance? This award is the Sports Emmy! Let’s understand this great news in an easy and fun way.

Lady Gaga is a very big singer, songwriter and actress. Her real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta – a bit long, isn’t it? She is famous all over the world for her songs and unique style. She has already won many big awards, such as Grammy (for music) and Oscar (for movies). Now a new name has been added to her list – Emmy!

Super Bowl is a very big football match in America. It is the final game of the National Football League (NFL), in which it is decided who will become the champion of the year. But it is not only famous for sports. Its halftime show is also a big event, in which famous singers perform. Every year millions of people watch it on TV. Stars like Michael Jackson, Prince and Beyonce have also performed in it!

Super Bowl LIX (i.e. the 59th Super Bowl) took place in 2025, and this time Lady Gaga rocked the halftime show.

Lady Gaga sang her song “Hold My Hand” at Super Bowl LIX. This song is from the movie “Top Gun: Maverick“, which some of you may have seen. Her performance was so amazing that everyone was surprised. She not only sang the song, but also handled the music of the entire show. This is called music direction – that is, presenting the song in the right way, controlling the orchestra and making everything perfect. She received a Sports Emmy for this great work.

This performance was even more special because it was to pay tribute to the victims of some tragic events. This included the New Orleans terrorist attack, Hurricane Helen (in Florida and Georgia) and the Los Angeles forest fire.

The Emmy is an award given for great work on TV, like the Oscars for movies. The Sports Emmy is specifically for TV programs related to sports.  Lady Gaga won the award for “Outstanding Music Direction.”

She beat out several big names, such as:

  • Evolution of the Black Quarterback
  • The Lionheart
  • Noche UFC: For Mexico, For All Time
  • The Turnaround

Meaning, her win didn’t come easy – she beat out tough competition!

Have you heard of the EGOT? It’s a combination of the four major awards:

  • E – Emmy (TV)
  • G – Grammy (Music)
  • O – Oscar (Film)
  • T – Tony (Theatre)

Very few people win all four. Lady Gaga already has a Grammy and an Oscar. Now she has an Emmy too. All that’s left is the Tony. If she wins that too, she’ll join the EGOT club. Amazing, right?

Lady Gaga didn’t just stop at the Super Bowl. She’s also been busy with her Mayhem Ball tour. She recently performed two shows in Singapore.  Now she is preparing for her tour in the US in July 2025. Apart from this, she will also be seen in Tudum 2025, a big Netflix event.

Lady Gaga’s real name – Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta – is a bit difficult to say, but her talent is visible to everyone in the easiest way!

Many big stars have performed in the Super Bowl halftime show before, such as Michael Jackson and Beyonce. Now Lady Gaga has also joined this list.

So friends, this was the story of Lady Gaga’s Super Bowl win. Her performance was so great that she won a Sports Emmy. If you haven’t heard “Hold My Hand” or haven’t seen her performance, then definitely check it out. It’s really amazing!
