Fans of Love Island USA were left disappointed and frustrated when the highly anticipated Season 7 premiere didn’t drop on time. Peacock had promised the new season would stream at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT on premiere night, but when the clock struck showtime—there was no episode in sight.

Just a minute after the scheduled release, Peacock posted a message on X (formerly Twitter):

“WE GOT A TEXT! Tonight’s episode will be slightly delayed. But it is worth the wait. Stay tuned!”

That did little to calm fans, who quickly took to social media to vent their outrage and confusion. Viewers in Canada reported being able to watch the episode on CTV’s streaming platform, hinting that the delay might have been a technical glitch on Peacock’s side.

After about a 40-minute wait, the Season 7 premiere finally went live—just in time for fans to catch Ariana Madix’s dramatic entrance into the villa.

Peacock posted another update once the episode dropped:

“Thank you for your patience! The Love Island USA episode is officially live now. Enjoy the premiere.”

Expectations were sky-high for this new season after Season 6 was a breakout hit. The sizzling chemistry, drama, and unforgettable cast moments (remember “Fawk Aaron” from Kaylor?) had fans hooked, leading Peacock to even launch a spinoff series, Love Island: Beyond the Villa.

Though the delay was short, it was enough to spark a meme frenzy and plenty of complaints—proving once again that Love Island fans don’t play when it comes to their favorite reality show.

What did you think of the delayed premiere? Was it worth the wait or a total letdown? Sound off!
