Ariana Grande is heading back to comedy! Fresh off her Oscar-nominated performance as Glinda in Wicked, the pop superstar is joining the cast of Meet the Parents 4, starring alongside comedy legends Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro.

Universal Pictures has officially greenlit the fourth installment of the hit comedy franchise, with a release date set for November 25, 2026. Grande will play the fiancée of the son of Greg and Pam (Stiller and Teri Polo’s characters), described as a “ball-busting” woman who seems all wrong for him. While plot details remain mostly under wraps, the classic clash-of-personalities dynamic will definitely return.

Director John Hamburg, who co-wrote all previous Meet the Parents films, wrote the script and will also direct this one. Jay Roach, director of the original trilogy, is returning as a producer.

The original Meet the Parents film premiered in 2000 and became a comedy smash, earning over $330 million at the box office and spawning two hit sequels — Meet the Fockers and Little Fockers. Altogether, the franchise has raked in over $1.13 billion globally.

In addition to De Niro and Stiller, Blythe Danner and Teri Polo are expected to return, though their deals haven’t been finalized yet.

Grande, who began her career in Nickelodeon’s Victorious, has recently made major waves in Hollywood. Her performance in Wicked not only brought in nearly $800 million worldwide but also earned her major award nominations, including an Oscar nod for Best Supporting Actress.

Fans can next catch her in Wicked: For Good, the second part of the musical saga, hitting theaters on November 21, 2025.

This marks Grande’s big leap back into comedy — and with a cast like this, the laughs (and awkward family moments) are guaranteed.
