Oscar-winning actress Natalie Portman quietly filed for divorce from her director/choreographer husband of 11 years, Benjamin Millepied, eight months ago, and now the former couple is officially divorced, People News has confirmed.

The actress filed last July and the divorce was finalized last month in France, where Portman and Millepied live with their children, son Aleph and daughter Amalia.

Navigating their under-the-radar separation hasn’t been easy for Portman, following media reports of an extramarital affair by Millepied in May 2023. A representative for Portman confirmed the news to People News.

It was really tough for her in the beginning, but her friends supported her and helped her get out of the worst situation.

Natalie, 42, has been through a really difficult and painful year, but she has come out on the other side of it even stronger and is finding happiness in her family, friends and work.

From the beginning, the couple have focused on helping their children adjust, and have been photographed together as a family on several occasions over the past year.

“Her biggest priority is ensuring a smooth transition for her children,” says an insider. “She and Ben truly love their children and are equally focused on being the best co-parents they can be. There is nothing more important than that.”

Us Weekly confirmed in August 2023 that Portman and Millepied quietly separated after 11 years of marriage. News of their breakup came two months after it was widely reported that Millepied was having an affair with activist Camille Etienne.

“Benjamin would love to have Natalie back, but right now he’s not interested,” a source told Us Weekly.
