Nicki Minaj has once again found herself at the center of online controversy after sharing a viral video featuring Donald Trump’s granddaughter, Kai, participating in a popular TikTok trend set to Minaj’s hit song “Beez In the Trap.”

The clip, which also includes Linda Perry’s “What’s Up?,” shows Kai and a friend dancing to the audio — something that immediately caught Minaj’s attention and prompted her to repost it on X with a frowning emoji, a laughing emoji, and a heart.

While Minaj’s caption appeared playful, reactions from fans and critics came quickly. Many questioned why, out of the thousands of people participating in the trend, she chose to highlight a member of the Trump family. “Out of everyone doing this trend she comments on this one?” one user wrote.

Others took a harsher tone, accusing her of supporting a political figure they believed opposed her fanbase. “Not you supporting someone who wants more than half of ur fanbase dead oh ok,” another comment read.

But not everyone viewed Minaj’s post as an endorsement. Several supporters argued that she may have been taking a subtle jab at Trump, noting the strained history between the rapper and the president.

“Y’all know damn well she don’t like him and he don’t like her — she’s rubbing it in his face that his granddaughter likes her,” one fan suggested, implying Minaj’s intentions may have been more sarcastic than supportive.

This moment marks the second time Minaj has stirred political conversation this month. Earlier in October, she raised eyebrows after publicly thanking Trump, writing, “Flattering photos are allowed to be posted of me again. Thanks, POTUS.” The cryptic post referenced behind-the-scenes political chatter she claimed had influenced how she was photographed and portrayed.

Her remarks included thinly veiled shots at Vice President Kamala Harris and Live Nation, adding further fuel to speculation about her political stance.

Meanwhile, Minaj’s headline-making isn’t limited to politics. The rapper is currently navigating several feuds within the music industry, including a heated conflict with former friend Rah Ali.

After Minaj accused her of stealing, Ali released an emotional open letter defending her character. “Throughout the duration of our friendship, I have been nothing but loyal and genuine,” she wrote, adding that while she respects Minaj’s struggles, she will not allow her own reputation or business to be harmed.

With political controversy and personal conflicts colliding, Minaj continues to dominate social media conversations — a position she seems more than prepared to hold.
