Nicki Minaj‘s highly anticipated concert in Amsterdam has been canceled following her recent arrest in the Netherlands.

The cancellation of the June 2 show at the Ziggo Dome was officially confirmed by the concert promoter MOJO, who cited “the events of last week” as the reason.

The 41-year-old rapper, known for her hits and dynamic performances, was arrested on May 25 at Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam.

Dutch authorities detained Minaj on suspicion of carrying drugs. She was released from police custody hours later, but the incident has led to significant disruptions in her Pink Friday 2 World Tour schedule.

The news of the arrest and the subsequent cancellation of the Amsterdam concert has disappointed many fans who were eagerly waiting to see Minaj perform.

The Ziggo Dome and MOJO announced that tickets for the show would be refunded at the point of sale, offering some consolation to ticket holders.

Minaj documented her arrest on social media, bringing a lot of public attention to the situation.

The Royal Netherlands Marechaussee, a branch of the Dutch military police responsible for border security, confirmed Minaj’s release on their official X (formerly Twitter) account.

According to their translated statement, Minaj was fined and allowed to continue her journey after a consultation with the Public Prosecution Service. They described the charge as suspicion of exporting soft drugs.

In an Instagram Live video recorded during the incident, Minaj can be heard being informed by officers that she was under arrest for carrying drugs.

Despite denying the claims at the time, she complied with the officers’ requests and asked for a lawyer. The rapper later shared her perspective on X, suggesting that the arrest was an attempt to sabotage her tour.

Minaj expressed her frustration, alleging that individuals were trying to undermine her tour because of its success.

She claimed that some people who were previously involved in her travel arrangements were fired for stealing money and retaliated by causing trouble.

She mentioned that her security team informed officials about marijuana pre-rolls in her bag, which led to the arrest.

Following her release, Minaj had to reschedule her concert in Manchester, England, originally set for May 25.

She apologized to her fans outside her hotel in Manchester, expressing regret for the inconvenience caused by the cancellation.

She thanked her supporters for their prayers and explained the circumstances surrounding her arrest and delayed flight.

In a detailed post on X, Minaj described her ordeal, including the time spent in a jail cell and the subsequent delay in her flight.

She highlighted the efforts made to still perform in Manchester, despite the challenges, and expressed gratitude to the venue for their willingness to extend the performance time.

Minaj emphasized that those behind the incident had succeeded in preventing her from performing that night, but she was determined to uncover the truth.

She mentioned having substantial video evidence and vowed to take legal action. She offered her deepest apologies to her fans and promised to create an added bonus for those who had tickets for the canceled show.
