Sarah Snook returns to the small screen in a role that leans into raw panic and quiet, simmering dread.

Peacock’s upcoming series All Her Fault, adapted from Andrea Mara’s novel, centers on Marissa Irvine (Snook), a woman whose life collapses when her young son vanishes after a playdate — and the stranger who answers the door insists she has no idea who Milo is.

The setup is sharp and simple: Marissa drops by 14 Arthur Avenue expecting to pick up Milo and instead finds a house full of questions. That single, terrifying moment — a parent’s worst fear — sets the series in motion and promises an emotional, character-first mystery rather than a straight procedural.

Snook’s performance is already the show’s biggest draw; this is her first lead-TV role since Succession, the Emmy-winning series that earned her an Emmy and two Golden Globes for playing Shiv Roy. Viewers who loved her cool, sharp edges in that role should expect something different here — a portrait of a mother pushed to the edge.

The cast around Snook is stacked: Dakota Fanning, Jake Lacy, Michael Peña, Sophia Lillis, Abby Elliott, Jay Ellis and others populate the orbit of Marissa’s life, each bringing potential allies or suspects. The series keeps its focus tight on the personal fallout of the disappearance, which could make for a grim, gripping watch rather than a noisy whodunit.

Megan Gallagher adapted the book for television and serves as writer, creator and executive producer, handing the story’s structure and tone to a creative team that includes Carnival Films and Universal International Studios.

Minkie Spiro directs the opening episodes — a promising choice given Spiro’s track record — with Kate Dennis also directing later installments. Snook is not only the star but also an executive producer, signaling she’s deeply invested in shaping how Marissa’s story unfolds on screen.

All Her Fault premieres Nov. 6 on Peacock, and it looks like the kind of limited-series event that plays to modern audiences’ appetite for short, intense dramas with a strong central performance.

If the trailer is any sign, viewers can expect a slow-burn, emotionally charged thriller that asks how far a mother will go when everything she thought she knew is suddenly in doubt.
