Shakira has been forced to cancel a third concert in just three nights, and fans are heartbroken — but no one seems more upset than the superstar herself.

The Colombian singer was set to perform Saturday, May 31, at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C., as part of the WorldPride celebration, the largest LGBTQ+ festival in the world. But on Friday, the venue made a sudden announcement: the show was canceled due to technical complications.

This latest cancellation comes on the heels of two scrapped shows in Boston at the iconic Fenway Park, originally scheduled for Thursday and Friday.

Local officials shut those performances down after routine safety inspections revealed that parts of the stage structure did not meet necessary standards. According to reports, city inspectors flagged the issues during a pre-show check and determined that the staging wasn’t safe enough to proceed.

Unfortunately, those Boston problems created a ripple effect. Nationals Park explained that the full tour setup couldn’t be moved to Washington, D.C., in time for Saturday’s event.

“Despite every effort to make it happen, it is not possible to move forward as planned,” the venue said in a statement.

Shakira shared her disappointment with fans in a heartfelt message. “I have been counting the days, excited to be reunited with my fans in both Washington and Boston,” she wrote.

“My team and I have made every effort to make it happen, but it doesn’t depend on any one of us right now, and I am devastated that these shows were just not possible this time.”

The “Hips Don’t Lie” singer promised her fans she’s doing everything she can to come back soon. “I promise that I will do everything in my power to be with you as soon as I can,” she added.

So far, there’s been no official word on whether the canceled shows in Boston and D.C. will be rescheduled, leaving thousands of fans waiting and wondering.

Shakira is currently on her much-hyped tour, which has been making headlines for its high-energy performances, stunning visuals, and powerful setlist.

These last-minute cancellations have thrown a wrench in what was supposed to be a major comeback run for the global pop icon.

For now, fans can only hope that the tour’s future stops stay on track — and that Shakira will be able to return to Boston and D.C. in the near future.
