Fans can’t stop talking about the Mission: Impossible star’s surprise drop-in.

Hollywood legend Tom Cruise just pulled off another surprise — this time not on the big screen, but on the set of NCIS: Origins.
The 62-year-old actor made an unannounced visit to the Paramount Studios lot, where the upcoming CBS prequel series is currently filming.
While it’s unclear exactly what brought Cruise to the lot, he’s been spending plenty of time at Paramount lately with Top Gun 3 still in development. NCIS: Origins writer and executive producer David J. North shared a behind-the-scenes Instagram post, revealing Cruise stopped by to show his support for the team.
“As we kick off a new season of Origins, it was awesome to have @tomcruise stop by yesterday to hang out and show some support to our show and the entire @ncisverse,” North wrote. He also revealed a fun connection between the show and Cruise’s hit movie, sharing, “@ginalucita and I took inspo from the bar in Top Gun when we dreamt up our bar, Daly’s. So we were stoked he approved lol. Thanks for all the advice and the love, Tom.”
Actor Austin Stowell, who stars as a young Leroy Jethro Gibbs, couldn’t resist a playful nod to Cruise’s Mission: Impossible franchise. Posting a photo of himself with the superstar, Stowell captioned it: “Gibbs & Hunt, NCIS: Impossible.” Fans flooded social media with excitement over the surprise crossover moment, calling it “iconic” and “the coolest thing to happen on the NCIS set in years.”
Cruise’s visit wasn’t just about fandom — it also marked a full-circle moment with Paramount. The actor has had a long and successful partnership with the studio, thanks to his blockbuster franchises Top Gun and Mission: Impossible.
His 2022 film Top Gun: Maverick became his highest-grossing movie ever, earning $1.49 billion worldwide and landing six Oscar nominations, including Best Picture. Meanwhile, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning pulled in $567.5 million globally, ranking as one of his biggest career hits.
Whether Cruise’s visit hints at a future collaboration or was just a friendly drop-in, fans are thrilled to see him back where it all began — at Paramount, surrounded by the energy of two powerhouse universes.
