Trista Sutter, the beloved alum of The Bachelorette, has spoken out for the first time after her husband, Ryan Sutter, posted a series of cryptic messages on social media that caused concern among their fans about the state of their relationship.

Trista, 51, addressed these concerns in an Instagram post on May 25, reassuring everyone that she is “happy and healthy.”

In her post, Trista shared a light-hearted comment to dispel the rumors swirling around her family’s situation. “Geez people. Can’t a girl have a nervous breakdown/trial separation/midlife crisis/death/divorce in peace around here?! 😜🤣,” she joked.

Accompanying the post was a picture of the family – Trista, Ryan, and their two children, Maxwell, 16, and Blakesley, 14 – enjoying a tropical vacation, a testament to their strong family bond.

Trista clarified that despite the speculation, she is “safe and sound, happy and healthy, in love and grateful.” She acknowledged that some might prefer to focus on negative assumptions, but she was more interested in spreading positivity. “For those who’d rather focus on being critical and searching way too hard for darkness, good luck with that. 🙃,” she added.

The reality TV star elaborated on her recent experiences, hinting at personal challenges and growth. She mentioned an “opportunity for perspective and personal growth” that she embraced with the support of her family and friends.

Trista assured her followers that during this period, her stay-at-home mom duties and her children’s needs were well taken care of.

Ryan Sutter, 49, who typically keeps a low profile on social media, had previously stirred concern with his cryptic posts. Trista explained that Ryan chose to express his love and support for her publicly during her time away.

“We look at Instagram like a digital diary. Most of the time, the world doesn’t pay too much attention. This time, he couldn’t say anything right and just about every news outlet picked up his ‘cryptic/confusing/attention-seeking/dramatic’ pictures and captions,” Trista explained.

She further revealed that Ryan’s posts, while misunderstood by the public, were a source of comfort for her. “To me, they gave me exactly what my Words of Affirmation love language needed to get me through some serious self-doubt and fear…and that’s all that matters,” Trista shared.

The couple, who married in 2003 after meeting on The Bachelorette, have long been seen as one of the franchise’s success stories.

Trista made it clear that Ryan does not owe anyone an explanation for his posts. “He doesn’t owe anyone any explanation or require permission to post what he wants to post and share what he wants to share. 💯,” she stated firmly.

She hinted that more details might be shared in the future but for now, they are focusing on enjoying their time together as a family. “If you want to know the rest of the story, I will share in due time. For now, it’s back to our regularly scheduled programming – from a beach in Mexico! 🇲🇽 🏝️🤿.”

In a playful conclusion, Trista wrote, “After all, nervous breakdowns and separations require much-needed rest and relaxation! 😎.” Her Instagram Stories featured her husband and children enjoying their beach vacation, further reinforcing their united front.

Ryan’s initial posts that sparked concern included a Mother’s Day tribute on May 12, where he mentioned that Trista was away from the family.

He later updated fans, reassuring them that “Trista is fine. We are fine. We’re great.” He explained that Trista was taking time for personal growth with her family’s support, which meant she was temporarily out of reach.

In another heartfelt message, Ryan expressed his longing to communicate with Trista. “I really wish I could talk to you. Ask you how you’re doing? How was your day.

I’d really like to hear your voice — just for a minute. So many times I’ve called without much to say, not realizing how lucky I was or how much I’d miss the opportunity if it were gone,” he shared.

Trista’s recent posts and the family’s beach vacation photos seem to put to rest any worries about their relationship. Their candid sharing offers a glimpse into the realities of their life, highlighting both the challenges and the love that holds them together.
