Former President Donald Trump gave a big shoutout to longtime friend and MAGA supporter Kid Rock, praising the launch of his new Nashville restaurant, The Detroit Cowboy, on Truth Social this week.

“Congratulations to my friend, Kid Rock (I call him Bob!)” Trump wrote, revealing his personal nickname for the rocker, whose real name is Robert Ritchie. He added that he’s heard the restaurant is a “very friendly MAGA establishment” and teased a possible visit soon.

The Detroit Cowboy officially opens June 3 after a soft launch in May. It’s being billed as a patriotic fine dining experience, complete with bold American decor like a wall-mounted bald eagle.

Kid Rock responded to Trump’s message on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “Thank you, Mr. President. Keep kickin’ ass for America, sir!”

The 54-year-old musician has been a staunch Trump ally since his first term. He’s previously visited the White House, performed at campaign events, and even called Trump “one of my besties.” The two reportedly bonded during a 2017 meeting and have spent time golfing together since.

Earlier this year, Rolling Stone published an op-ed highlighting Kid Rock’s transformation from wild rock star to outspoken MAGA figure. The article suggested that his political shift left some former collaborators, like longtime producer Mike E. Clark, feeling “like losing a family member.”

In May, Kid Rock faced headlines over reports that staff at his Big Ass Honky Tonk Rock N’ Roll Steakhouse were sent home during a rumored ICE raid. He denied involvement, claiming he’s not part of daily operations, but doubled down on supporting the removal of “illegal criminals” while backing legal immigration.

During a Fox News Digital interview at his “Rock N Rodeo” event in Texas, Kid Rock praised Trump for fighting back against DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) initiatives, calling him a “dragon slayer.”

With The Detroit Cowboy now part of his business empire, Kid Rock continues to blend his brand of unapologetic patriotism and showbiz flash—keeping his MAGA roots on full display, with Trump cheering him on from the sidelines.
