Authentic Hyderabadi Biryani at Home

Ingredients (Part 1)

Gather: Basmati rice, Chicken/Mutton, Yogurt, Onions, Tomatoes, Ginger-garlic paste and Green chilies.

Ingredients (Part 2)

Spices & Herbs: Cloves, Cardamom, Cinnamon, Saffron, Mint, Coriander and Fried onions.

Marinate the Meat

Mix meat with yogurt, spices, ginger-garlic paste, and lemon. Marinate 2+ hours.

Parboil the Rice

Soak rice 30 mins. Boil with whole spices until 70% cooked. Drain!

Golden Fried Onions

Crispy secret! Fry onions till golden. Save some for garnish.

Layering Magic

Layer rice + meat + herbs + fried onions. Drizzle saffron milk.

Dum Cooking

Seal with dough. Cook on low heat 25-30 mins. Let flavors meld!

Rest & Serve

Wait 10 mins after cooking. Gently mix layers. Serve hot!
