Mango Lassi: A Refreshing Summer Drink

Cool off with a creamy Mango Lassi, a popular Indian yogurt-based drink. It’s easy to make, packed with probiotics and vitamins, and perfect for hot days!

What You’ll Need

1 cup chopped ripe mango (or 1 cup mango pulp), 1 cup plain whole milk yogurt, 1/4 cup milk, 1-2 tbsp sugar or honey (optional), pinch of ground cardamom (optional).

Prep Your Mango

If using fresh mango, peel and chop it into small pieces. Tip: Choose ripe mangoes that are slightly soft and fragrant. Fun fact: Mangoes are known as the “king of fruits” in India!

Blend It Up

In a blender, combine the mango, yogurt, and milk. Blend until smooth.

Sweeten to Taste

Taste the mixture. If needed, add 1-2 tablespoons of sugar or honey and blend again. Adjust based on the ripeness of your mangoes.

Optional: Add Cardamom

For an authentic flavor, add a pinch of ground cardamom. It’s a common spice in Indian desserts and adds a warm, floral note.

Blend Until Smooth

Blend everything together until the lassi is creamy and smooth. For a thinner consistency, add more milk. Feel free to adjust to your liking.

Serve Chilled

Pour the lassi into glasses. For extra chill, add ice cubes or refrigerate before serving. Tip: Use chilled ingredients for the best results.

Make It Your Own

Try adding a pinch of salt for a savory twist or garnish with fresh mint leaves for extra freshness.
