Pete Davidson is ready to go back to where it all started — Saturday Night Live.

In a new chat with People, the comedian made it clear he’d return to SNL in a heartbeat if creator and executive producer Lorne Michaels gave him the call.

“I had a great time hosting last time, and anytime you get that call, it’s an honor and a privilege,” said the 31-year-old comic. “It’s always relevant, it’s a hot show. People look forward to it, and the cast is great.”

But Davidson’s loyalty to Michaels runs even deeper than that. “I owe that guy my life,” he said. “He jump-started everything. So I’d do anything for Lorne, and he knows that.”

Davidson joined SNL in 2014 at just 20 years old — one of the youngest cast members in the show’s history. After eight seasons, he made his emotional exit in 2022, alongside co-stars Kate McKinnon, Aidy Bryant, and Kyle Mooney.

Before his final episode, Davidson shared a heartfelt message on Instagram, writing, “SNL is my home. I’m so happy and sad about tonight’s show. For so many reasons I can’t explain.”

Since leaving, Davidson has opened up about how fame took a toll on him. In a 2023 interview, he joked that he “got hit on the face with the Hollywood shovel,” adding that he’s “very happy where I am right now, mentally.”

Even after his departure, Davidson hasn’t strayed too far from Studio 8H. He returned to host SNL in October 2023 — a full-circle moment that received rave reviews from fans — and also appeared earlier this year during the SNL50: The Anniversary Special.

While many alums eventually make guest appearances or host, Davidson’s openness to return as a full-time cast member sets him apart.

And considering his enduring connection with Michaels and the show that launched his career, fans can’t help but wonder — could Pete Davidson one day step back onto that famous stage, not as a guest, but as part of the cast again?
