K-pop fans and international audiences are furious after South Korean singer and producer MC Mong showed what appeared to be a portrait of Adolf Hitler hanging in his home.

The uproar began when MC Mong uploaded a short video of his home interior to Instagram, soundtracked by Cardigarden’s mellow hit “Home Sweet Home.” But what viewers noticed wasn’t the décor — it was a large portrait of Hitler clearly displayed on his staircase wall.

Within hours, the clip went viral and sparked global outrage. Fans across the world expressed shock that the rapper — once one of Korea’s biggest names — would display an image of one of history’s most brutal dictators.

Adolf Hitler, who led Nazi Germany during World War II, orchestrated the deaths of millions under his fascist and racist ideology. His image and Nazi symbols remain banned in countries like Germany due to their association with hate crimes.

Despite that, MC Mong seemed unaware of the storm he was brewing when he posted the video. Critics accused him of showing admiration for Hitler, while others questioned his awareness and sensitivity.

This isn’t the first time the rapper has stirred controversy. MC Mong faced significant backlash in 2004 for making a homophobic remark during a television interview. He reportedly stated that if gun ownership were legal in South Korea, LGBTQ+ individuals “should be shot dead,” adding that “The Bible clearly states that [homosexuality] is a sin.” However, the show’s production team removed the comment before broadcast.

The Hitler portrait controversy has also reignited conversations on social media about MC Mong’s influence in the K-pop industry and his relationships with idols who have signed under his company. Many fans expressed disappointment and anger toward artists who continue to work with him despite his past behavior.

One Twitter user wrote,

“It’s okay to admit those K-pop idols who choose to sign with MC Mong’s companies do it for the money (who doesn’t want more money) but don’t act like they are ‘advocating for labor rights’ when this is who they look up to.”

“Let’s talk about ‘closer than family’ MC Mong who is a Nazi, Zionist, homophobic. He is the person Baekhyun looks up to!!! So yeah, that says a lot.”
