Next week brings two major releases: Disney’s ‘Zootopia 2’ and the Benedict Cumberbatch–led drama ‘The Thing with Feathers,’ hitting theaters nationwide.
1. Zootopia 2

Zootopia 2 is scheduled to hit theaters on November 26, 2025, across the United States, coinciding with the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. The film is expected to receive a wide theatrical release and is projected to be one of the biggest box office openings of the year.
The main voice cast sees the return of Ginnifer Goodwin as upbeat police officer Judy Hopps and Jason Bateman as her cynical and quick-witted partner, Nick Wilde. Idris Elba is also returning as Chief Bogo, along with Jenny Slate reprising her role as Bellwether. New additions to the cast include comedic actor Gary Cole as the villain Gary De’Snake and Oscar-winner Ben Kingsley in a supporting role.
In Zootopia 2, rookie officers Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde discover that their new partnership is far less smooth than expected, prompting Chief Bogo to send them to “partners’ therapy” with Dr. Fuzzby. Their internal issues are quickly pushed aside when a mysterious pit viper, Gary De’Snake, appears in Zootopia and disrupts the city.
To solve the case, Judy and Nick are forced to go undercover and venture into previously unexplored sections of the city, including the Marsh Market. Their investigation leads to the uncovering of a complex conspiracy that challenges their trust, loyalty, and commitment to the force. The sequel expands the original film’s world and themes of inclusion, delivering an action-packed, humorous, and emotional story centered on collaboration and understanding.
2. The Thing with Feathers

The Thing with Feathers is set for release on November 28, 2025, presented as a small-scale drama with modest box office expectations.
‘The Thing with Feathers’ centers on a father, played by Benedict Cumberbatch, who struggles to raise his two young sons following the sudden death of his wife. His grief becomes so intense and chaotic that it manifests physically as an uninvited and taunting presence known as Crow—a figure that acts both as a trickster and a healer.
Adapted from Max Porter’s critically acclaimed novella Grief Is the Thing with Feathers, the film explores themes of loss and the complicated, often unpredictable process of healing. The psychological narrative follows the protagonist’s descent into madness as he confronts this living embodiment of his pain, which originates from his work as a graphic novelist.
The film’s cast includes Benedict Cumberbatch as “Dad,” the grieving protagonist, with Richard and Henry Boxall portraying his two sons. The physical portrayal of “Crow” is performed by Eric Lampaert, while the character’s voice is provided by actor David Thewlis. Vinette Robinson also appears in a supporting role.
