Netflix has officially released the final trailer for Stranger Things, and it’s clear the show is heading toward an emotional and high-stakes ending.

After nearly a decade on screen, the beloved series is preparing to say goodbye — and the trailer sets the tone for one final fight.

The footage centers on the familiar faces of Hawkins as they prepare to face the monstrous threat once and for all. One of the most powerful moments comes when Jim Hopper (David Harbour) speaks directly to Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), urging her to fight “one last time” for a future beyond their small town. The scene captures the heart of the show: friendship, sacrifice, and hope in the face of darkness.

The series finale is scheduled to release on December 31, and Netflix is going all out. In addition to streaming on the platform, the final episode will also be shown in select theaters. What started as a limited theatrical run has now expanded significantly due to high demand, growing from 350 theaters to more than 600 across the U.S.

Co-creator Ross Duffer shared the excitement on Instagram, revealing that more than 1.1 million fans have already RSVP’d for New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day screenings. Thousands of showtimes are already sold out, proving just how deeply the series has connected with viewers over the years.

Still, the final season hasn’t been without controversy. Part two of the season faced online backlash, including review bombing and debate over how a coming-out moment involving Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) was handled. The Duffer Brothers have remained silent on the criticism.

Despite the noise, Stranger Things remains one of Netflix’s biggest success stories. Season four alone pulled in more than 140 million views worldwide, cementing its place in pop culture history.

Directed by creators Ross and Matt Duffer, the final episode drops at 5 p.m. PT on Wednesday. For fans, it’s not just an ending it’s the close of a ten-year journey shared together.
