After years of anticipation, Jill Scott is officially stepping back into the spotlight with a brand-new album.

The Grammy-winning R&B icon announced her sixth studio project, To Whom This May Concern, marking her first full-length album release in over ten years. The album arrives on Feb. 13 and will be released through The Orchard.

Rather than easing back into music quietly, Scott is making a bold return. The album features a wide range of collaborators, including Ab-Soul, J.I.D., Tierra Whack, and Too Short.

On the production side, the project brings together respected names like DJ Premier, Adam Blackstone, Om’Mas Keith, Camper, Andre Harris, Trombone Shorty, and several others. The mix of artists signals that Scott is blending classic soul roots with modern hip-hop and R&B energy.

To kick things off, Scott has already shared the album’s first single, “Beautiful People,” giving fans a taste of what’s to come. In a recent interview on Million Dollaz Worth of Game, she described the album as deeply personal and shaped by real-life experiences.

“It’s a lot of living in this album,” Scott said, explaining that the music reflects growth, truth, and emotional honesty. She also praised the musicians involved, calling the experience both surprising and fulfilling.

Scott’s last album, Woman, was released in 2015 and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, proving her lasting impact even after long breaks between projects. In 2025, she celebrated the 25th anniversary of her debut album, Who Is Jill Scott?: Words and Sounds Vol. 1, with special performances, including a standout appearance at the Essence Festival.

Beyond music, Scott has stayed busy in Hollywood, appearing in shows like Black Lightning, First Wives Club, and Abbott Elementary. She’s also set to appear in Tyler Perry’s upcoming Netflix film Why Did I Get Married Again?

With To Whom This May Concern, Jill Scott isn’t just returning — she’s reminding fans why her voice still matters.
