Angel Reese is officially expanding her star power beyond basketball.

The two-time WNBA All-Star has joined Season 2 of Netflix’s hit drama The Hunting Wives, marking a major crossover moment for one of the most talked-about athletes in sports today.

Netflix confirmed that Reese will appear in a co-starring role as a character named Trainer Barbie — a name that instantly caught fans’ attention. The nickname is a playful nod to Reese’s real-life monikers, Bayou Barbie and Chi Barbie, earned during her dominant college career at LSU and her time with the Chicago Sky.

Season 1 of The Hunting Wives, starring Brittany Snow and Malin Akerman, became a surprise breakout when it debuted in July 2025. The series follows Sophie (Snow), a woman who moves from the East Coast to East Texas and gets pulled into a powerful and secretive social circle led by Margo (Akerman).

What looks glamorous on the outside quickly turns dark, dangerous, and unpredictable.

Season 2 raises the stakes even higher. Sophie and Margo start the new season on opposite sides, but lingering secrets and new enemies push them back together. The show teases a chilling question at the center of the story: who’s really in control — the hunters or the hunted?

Reese joins an already stacked cast that includes Evan Jonigkeit, Katie Lowes, Chrissy Metz, Dermot Mulroney, Jaime Ray Newman, and George Ferrier. She’ll also appear alongside newly announced Season 2 additions like John Stamos, Cam Gigandet, Kim Matula, Alex FitzAlan, and Dale Dickey.

While this may be Reese’s biggest acting role yet, the move feels like a natural next step. The 22-year-old has become a cultural force, known for her confidence, style, and strong voice both on and off the court.

At LSU, she led the Tigers to their first-ever national championship and earned Most Outstanding Player honors. In 2024, she was drafted by the Chicago Sky and has since become one of the league’s biggest stars.

The Hunting Wives Season 2 is currently in production. The series is created by Rebecca Cutter and based on the bestselling novel by May Cobb, with Lionsgate Television and 3 Arts Entertainment producing.

For Reese, it’s clear: the spotlight isn’t limited to the basketball court anymore — and fans are here for it.
