Jordana Brewster signs on for Amazon’s crime thriller “Bishop,” joining Joel Kinnaman and John Malkovich in a dark hunt through San Francisco.

Amazon’s upcoming crime drama “Bishop” is adding more star power.
Jordana Brewster has joined the cast of the new thriller series from Amazon MGM Studios, which is currently in development for Prime Video.
Brewster will play Kat Clairborne, a seasoned inspector in the San Francisco Police Department. The role places her inside the heart of the show’s investigation as authorities chase a mysterious killer targeting the city’s wealthy elite.
She joins an already notable lineup led by Joel Kinnaman, John Malkovich and Jennifer Jason Leigh. Leigh was recently announced as Jillian Graves, the sister of Malkovich’s character.
The series, first picked up by Prime Video last September, is shaping up to be a dark and layered crime story.
“Bishop” centers on a troubled but brilliant investigator trying to track down an elusive serial killer who has begun targeting San Francisco’s wealthy class. As the case deepens, the killer’s bold acts start gaining admiration from some of the city’s marginalized residents.
The investigation becomes even more personal when the detective suspects the murders may be tied to one of the city’s most powerful figures — his own father, Lincoln Graves.
The project was created by Little Marvin, known for the horror anthology series Them, and Tony Saltzman, whose credits include Dexter. Little Marvin will also serve as showrunner.
Producers include Roy Lee and Miri Yoon from Vertigo.
For Brewster, the role adds another television credit to a career that spans both TV and blockbuster films. She recently appeared in American Crime Story and previously starred in the TV adaptation of Lethal Weapon, as well as the revived drama Dallas and the mystery series Secrets and Lies.
On the film side, Brewster will soon appear in the indie drama “The Pirate King,” premiering this week at the South by Southwest. She also recently appeared in the thriller “Cellar Door” and the horror-tinged film “Heart Eyes.”
Still, Brewster remains widely recognized for her long-running role in the blockbuster Fast & Furious franchise, where she appeared in seven of the series’ ten films.
With its mix of psychological crime, social tension and family conflict, “Bishop” is quickly shaping into one of Prime Video’s most anticipated upcoming dramas.
