As “Mayor of Kingstown” heads into its final season, veteran actor David Morse joins the cast as a tough FBI agent entering the chaos of Kingstown.

Production is officially underway for the fifth and final season of the Paramount+ crime drama Mayor of Kingstown, and the series is bringing in a familiar face to help close out the story.
Veteran actor David Morse has joined the cast of the show created by Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon.
The final chapter of the hit drama will again star Jeremy Renner and Edie Falco, with Morse stepping into a major new role that could shift the balance of power in the troubled town of Kingstown.
Morse will portray Russell Hardy, a seasoned FBI agent sent to the city on a mission. According to the series description, Hardy arrives looking for Callahan, who is now considered a fugitive after recent violent events. But his investigation may uncover much more than expected.
As a strict lawman, Hardy threatens to expose the secrets and past actions of Mike McLusky, Renner’s character, potentially destabilizing the fragile order that keeps Kingstown functioning.
Season 5 will consist of eight episodes and will serve as the final installment of the popular Paramount+ drama. Alongside Renner, Falco, and Morse, the season will feature returning cast members Laura Benanti, Hugh Dillon, Taylor Handley, Tobi Bamtefa, and Derek Webster.
Actors Necar Zadegan, Nichole Galicia, and Lennie James are also returning.
For Morse, the role adds another notable credit to an already long career in television and film. He recently appeared in the series The Last Thing He Told Me and has also had memorable roles in The Morning Show and True Detective.
Film audiences may recognize him from projects such as The Green Mile, The Hurt Locker, and World War Z.
Behind the scenes, the series continues to be produced by Paramount Television Studios along with 101 Studios and Bosque Ranch Productions.
Longtime collaborator Dave Erickson will return as showrunner for the final season.
With filming now in progress, the last season of Mayor of Kingstown promises a tense conclusion as new forces arrive in town and long-buried secrets threaten to come to light.
