Megan Thee Stallion was taken to a hospital in New York after she suddenly felt sick during a live performance of Moulin Rouge! The Musical and had to leave the stage before the show ended.

According to her team, the incident happened during Tuesday night’s performance. She started feeling unwell in the middle of the show and was quickly taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors are now checking her symptoms.

Doctors later found that her condition was linked to exhaustion, dehydration, and stress on her body. She has since been treated, discharged from the hospital, and is now recovering.

Megan also shared that she had been pushing herself too hard and overworking. She told fans she plans to rest and return to the Broadway stage soon.

Her hairstylist, Kellon Deryck, also shared a message on X, asking fans to keep her in their prayers as the team stayed with her at the hospital.

Even after she exited mid-performance, the show did not stop. Another performer stepped in and the production continued for the audience.

Back in February, it was announced that Megan would make her Broadway debut with this production. She was cast as Harold Zidler, a role originally played by Tony Award winner Danny Burstein. Her limited run began on March 24 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre and was scheduled to continue through May 17.

At the time, Megan said she was excited to take on something new and push herself creatively. She also shared that Broadway requires a different level of focus and preparation, and she was ready for the challenge.

She has stepped away from a couple of performances for now, but is expected to return once she feels ready.

“Moulin Rouge! The Musical” has been running on Broadway for seven years and is set to close on July 26. By that time, it will have reached 2,265 regular performances along with 24 previews, placing it among the longer-running shows in Broadway history.

Producers have not shared a reason for the closing..

The production is known for its high costs, including music rights and its large, detailed stage setup, which makes it an expensive show to run.
