One of the world’s most talked-about music festivals, Coachella 2026, kicks off this weekend (April 10), and with it, the festival’s popular YouTube livestream is making a return. This year’s experience is leveling up in a big way, as viewers will be able to watch performances from all seven stages simultaneously. Notably, the Coachella Stage, Outdoor Theatre, and Sahara stage will be available in 4K resolution, while the Quasar stage can be streamed in both horizontal and vertical formats.
So you’re not constantly flipping between tabs, a 4×4 grid multi-view feature has been introduced, allowing viewers to watch up to four performances at the same time. With so many performances happening simultaneously, an AI-powered “Lineup Personalizer” has also been added to help users decide what to watch. Based on listening history, it will recommend the best 4×4 grid combinations built around what you actually listen to.
But it’s not just about watching sets. This year, through a deeper partnership between YouTube and Coachella, a new “Shop the Stage” feature has been introduced. This allows viewers to purchase exclusive festival merchandise directly from the livestream via an on-screen “Shopping” button. Items include limited-edition T-shirts and accessories from artists like Sabrina Carpenter and Justin Bieber, with Google Pay integration so checkout takes about two seconds.
On the technology front, the Quasar stage is honestly the most interesting addition, especially for electronic music fans. Built for people who want to actually feel the set, it will feature extended DJ sets lasting over three hours. In 2026, it also introduces “Spatial Audio” support, meaning that viewers using headphones can experience sound as if they were standing right in front of the stage.
In addition to live performances, viewers will also get a glimpse behind the scenes. Through YouTube Shorts, artists’ backstage rituals and pre-show preparations will be showcased in vertical format. This content will also be available in a “Picture-in-Picture” mode, allowing fans to watch it alongside the main livestream. Meanwhile, Coachella TV will air throwback clips from past festivals between live sets.
For international audiences, a DVR feature has been added for anyone in a different time zone or just living life. This allows users to rewind the livestream up to 12 hours, so if you miss a major performance, you can easily go back and watch it without waiting for the stream to end.
The livestream will be available for free on YouTube via Coachella’s official channel and livestream app, with coverage beginning daily at 7:00 p.m. ET / 4:00 p.m. PT. While the exact daily performance schedule is typically announced the morning of, this year’s lineup includes headliners like Karol G, Anyma, The Strokes, Iggy Pop, and BIGBANG.
To make sure you don’t miss any of the action, just go to YouTube and tap the “Notify Me” button on Coachella’s official channel, so you’ll get alerted as soon as the livestream begins.
