Netflix has quietly dropped its upcoming movie “Perfect.” That call came after actress Millie Bobby Brown chose to step away from the project.
According to Deadline, she left due to creative differences with the film’s producers.
The movie was a sports drama built around the Olympics, with Millie Bobby Brown in the lead role. She was set to portray Kerri Strug, a member of the 1996 “Magnificent Seven” USA gymnastics team. Once she was out, Netflix also decided to halt the project.
Gia Coppola was attached to direct the movie, while the script was written by Ronnie Sandahl, who is known for working on similar genre films. Netflix declined to comment on the situation, and there was no immediate response from Millie Bobby Brown’s team.
The project was first reported in September 2025, when it was revealed that Brown would both star in and produce the film. The story was set during the 1996 Olympic Games held in Atlanta, Georgia.
Millie Bobby Brown broke out as a kid for her role as Eleven in “Stranger Things.” The show concluded at the end of 2025, leaving her character’s future deliberately left hanging. Since then, she has continued working with Netflix on several major projects, including “Damsel” and “The Electric State.”
She also leads the “Enola Holmes” film series, where she plays the younger sister of the famous detective Sherlock Holmes. A third Enola Holmes movie is already in the works. She’s also set to appear in a romantic comedy titled “Just Picture It,” alongside Gabriel LaBelle.
The lead producers for “Perfect” included Nik Bower and Thomas Benski, with 30WEST attached as executive producer.
