Kanye West (Ye) has had his upcoming concert in Poland officially canceled, underscoring the growing global impact of the controversies surrounding the artist. The show, scheduled for June 19 at Silesian Stadium in Chorzów, will no longer take place due to “formal and legal reasons,” according to venue officials.
A representative for the stadium confirmed that organizers would be formally notified, adding that legal teams are preparing documentation related to the cancellation. Stadium director Adam Strzyzewski also issued a statement on Facebook, confirming that the planned event would not move forward.
The decision follows strong opposition from Poland’s culture minister, Marta Cienkowska, who publicly condemned the idea of Ye performing in the country. In a statement posted online, she described the concert as “unacceptable,” framing the issue as one that extends beyond entertainment into social and historical responsibility.
“We are talking about an artist who has publicly expressed antisemitic views and contributed to the normalization of hate,” Cienkowska said. “In a country marked by the history of the Holocaust, we cannot pretend this is just entertainment.”

The cancellation adds to a series of international setbacks for Ye. His June show in France was recently postponed following political backlash, while the U.K. government denied him a travel visa, leading to the cancellation of his headlining appearance at London’s Wireless Festival.
Industry insiders say the situation reflects a broader shift in how governments and promoters evaluate artist partnerships. “Brand safety and public sentiment are now central to the touring business,” one European promoter said. “Working with controversial artists increasingly carries financial and reputational risk.”
From a financial standpoint, cancellations of this scale can have significant consequences. Stadium concerts typically generate millions in ticket sales and sponsorship revenue, and last-minute changes can create logistical challenges, refund obligations, and strain on commercial partnerships.
Despite these setbacks, Ye’s global touring plans are not entirely derailed. According to the Yeezy website, he is still scheduled to perform in New Delhi, Istanbul, the Netherlands, Italy, Madrid and Portugal later this year, though increased scrutiny around these events is likely.
On the music front, his latest album “Bully,” released March 28, debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, indicating that his commercial appeal remains strong despite ongoing controversies.
Ye has not yet issued a public statement regarding the Poland cancellation. However, the situation highlights a critical moment in his career, where public perception and global response may prove just as influential as his music output.
