Zendaya is, at this moment, the most in-demand actress in Hollywood. With five major projects releasing in 2026 alone, her calendar is a feat rarely seen for any A-list star and it all began with a Disney Channel sitcom barely a decade ago.

Born Zendaya Maree Stoermer Coleman in Oakland, California, the actress made her television debut on Disney Channel’s Shake It Up in 2010, starring as Rocky Blue for three seasons. She followed that with her own Disney sitcom, K.C. Undercover, which ran from 2015 to 2018, establishing her as a dependable leading presence before Hollywood came calling.

Her transition to feature films began with Sony and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2017, in which she played MJ opposite Tom Holland. That same year, she appeared in the musical The Greatest Showman alongside Hugh Jackman and Zac Efron. Neither role prepared audiences for what came next.

HBO’s Euphoria, premiering in June 2019, changed everything. Zendaya’s role as Rue Bennett — a suburban, opiate-addicted California high school teenager — made her the youngest recipient of two Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series.

Her film work expanded further with the sci-fi epic Dune in 2021 alongside Timothée Chalamet, and the intimate drama Malcolm & Marie that same year. (imdb) She returned as Chani in Dune: Part Two in 2024. Luca Guadagnino’s tennis drama Challengers, also from 2024, stands widely as her finest film performance to date.

Now, 2026 has opened an entirely new chapter. The A24 dark romantic comedy The Drama, directed by Kristoffer Borgli, arrived in theaters April 1 with Robert Pattinson as her co-star. Euphoria Season 3 then premiered April 13 on HBO, aging up the characters through a significant time jump.

Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey arrives July 17, 2026, with Zendaya playing Athena alongside Matt Damon and Tom Holland. Spider-Man: Brand New Day follows on July 31. Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Three, in which she reprises her role as Chani, closes the year on December 18, 2026.
