AJ McLean Invites Taylor Swift to Perform with Backstreet Boys in Las Vegas After Viral Mashup.

Backstreet Boys’ AJ McLean has officially invited Taylor Swift to perform with the band in Las Vegas after a viral mashup of their hit “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)” with Swift’s new track “Elizabeth Taylor” took over TikTok.
Speaking with TMZ on Nov. 11, McLean said he’d love to see Swift take the stage at the group’s upcoming “Into the Millennium” Las Vegas residency shows, returning in December and January 2026. “I don’t know if she’d ever do it, but I think Taylor would absolutely destroy it,” he said. “She is a fan, and we’re massive fans of hers.”
The invitation follows the viral success of a mashup by creator Lydia Getachew, which has surpassed 1 million views. McLean fueled fan excitement in October when he posted an Instagram video dancing to the remix, tagging Swift. She quickly noticed, replying, “OH HI AJ OH MY GOD,” a comment that’s racked up over 185,000 likes.
McLean praised Swift for her kindness, mentioning how warmly she’s treated his daughters at her shows. He even teased her directly on camera: “Taylor, if you want, come see the show first … We’re not going to say no.”
But not all fans were thrilled about the idea. Under TMZ’s post about McLean’s invite, opinions were sharply divided. One fan wrote, “As a longtime BSB fan, we don’t want to see her,” while another said, “Taylor breaks the planet all on her own.” Some comments were harsher, with one user calling McLean “trash” and “a real big A-hole,” warning that “Taylor shouldn’t associate herself with this fool and the Backstreet Boys.” Others quickly clapped back, saying, “You’re the fool actually. They’re millionaires while you’re a keyboard bully!”
If a crossover performance between the Eras Tour queen and the iconic boy band ever happens, it could truly be a dream pairing.
