Chris Noth reflects on losing longtime friendships after sexual assault allegations, saying the lack of a private call hurt more than public statements.

Chris Noth is speaking candidly about how the fallout from sexual assault allegations reshaped his personal and professional relationships — especially his bond with Sarah Jessica Parker.
In an exclusive preview from the Jan. 26 episode of Really Famous with Kara Mayer Robinson, the 71-year-old actor addresses long-standing speculation about where things stand between him and his former Sex and the City co-star. His answer is direct: the friendship is over.
Noth explains that what troubled him most was not the public response to the allegations, but the silence that followed from people he believed knew him well.
After multiple women accused him of sexual assault in reports published in 2021 by The Hollywood Reporter and The Daily Beast, Parker, along with Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis, released a joint statement expressing support for the women who came forward.
Noth has repeatedly denied all allegations, calling them fabricated and insisting he would never cross such a line. Looking back now, he says the public statement from his former colleagues felt impersonal and hurtful.
According to Noth, he expected a phone call before any public response was made — a chance, at least, to be heard privately. Instead, he says the lack of communication made the situation feel transactional, driven more by image protection than personal history.
“It was sad and disappointing,” Noth shares in the interview, adding that the moment revealed who truly stood by him. While painful, he says the experience brought clarity about which relationships were real and which were not.
The controversy also had immediate professional consequences. Noth was written out of HBO’s And Just Like That…, the Sex and the City revival, after his character Mr. Big died in the premiere episode.
Although he was initially expected to appear again later in the season, those scenes were ultimately removed.
More recently, online chatter reignited when Noth posted a gym photo on Instagram with an aggressive New Year’s caption. A fan’s comment referencing Parker’s recent Golden Globes honor caught attention — and Noth’s brief reply appeared to endorse the sentiment, further fueling rumors of lingering tension.
Despite everything, Noth says he has come to accept both the losses and lessons that came with the ordeal. While the damage to certain friendships remains, he believes the experience revealed uncomfortable truths that, in the long run, were necessary to face.
Kara Mayer Robinson’s full interview with Noth premieres Monday, Jan. 26, on Really Famous with Kara Mayer Robinson on YouTube.
