A tense love triangle unfolds on a Greek island as “Satisfaction” heads to Glasgow Film Festival, continuing its global festival journey.

As independent films continue to find their audiences through festivals, Satisfaction is quietly building momentum on the international circuit.
Written and directed by Alex Burunova, the relationship drama arrives at the Glasgow Film Festival this weekend for its U.K. premiere after debuting earlier at the South by Southwest (SXSW) in March last year.
At the center of the story is Lola, played by Emma Laird, a young artist trying to reclaim both her creative voice and emotional independence. She travels to a quiet Greek island with her boyfriend Philip, portrayed by Fionn Whitehead, a fellow musician.
What begins as a retreat soon turns complicated when the couple meets Elena, played by Zar Amir.
A newly released clip from the film captures the tension that defines the story: a dinner conversation where underlying frustrations slowly rise to the surface.
What appears to be a simple exchange between three people quickly reveals deeper conflicts—about love, loyalty, and personal identity.
Burunova describes the film as an exploration of how people sometimes lose themselves while trying to hold on to love. According to the filmmaker, many relationships involve compromises that can slowly blur a person’s sense of self.
Through Lola’s journey, Satisfaction asks what happens when someone finally confronts that loss.
The film’s festival tour continues beyond Glasgow. Later this month it will screen at the BFI Flare London LGBTQIA+ Film Festival on March 22–23 and the Manchester Film Festival on March 23.
Each stop introduces the intimate drama to new audiences drawn to character-driven storytelling.
Behind the camera, Burunova also produces the film through Perfect Circle Films, working alongside producers Rafael Thomaseto, Helena Sardinha, Kyle Stroud, and Iryna Asonova.
Executive producers include Amir, Tom Ogden, Joseph C. Grano, Alex Ross, Lauren Melinda, Davide Luchetti, Anna Elizabeth James, and Motti Mintzer.
Distribution discussions are already underway. The UTA Independent Film Group is handling North American rights, while international sales are managed by Miguel Govea and Brett Walker at Alief.
With its intimate setting and emotionally layered performances, Satisfaction is positioning itself as a thoughtful entry in the modern relationship drama landscape as its festival journey continues.
