Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett playfully accepts Donald Trump’s IQ test challenge during a hilarious segment on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live.’
Texas Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett is ready to take on Donald Trump’s IQ test challenge — and she’s doing it with humor.
During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Crockett responded to the president’s recent remarks claiming that “low IQ” Democrats like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Crockett wouldn’t be able to pass the same cognitive test he took at Walter Reed Medical Center.
Jimmy Kimmel, who’s been following the story all week, joked that the event could be “bigger than the Super Bowl and Jake Paul fighting Dick Van Dyke combined.” He proposed hosting the televised contest himself, dubbing it The James C. Kimmel Cognitive Aptitude and Mental Brilliance Invitational.
In a clip played during the show, Trump said, “They have Jasmine Crockett, a low IQ person. They have—AOC’s low IQ. You give her an IQ test. Let AOC go against Trump. Let Jasmine go against Trump.”
Kimmel responded, “I agree. It sounds like a challenge. I want to make it happen live on national television. Let’s give our bigly-brained president a chance to prove it.”
Crockett joined the show via video call and didn’t hold back. “I know he can’t seem to find himself in the Oval Office to make sure that he can end this shutdown,” she said, “but he does have time to troll me. So, listen, if he’s down, I’m down.”
When Kimmel asked if she noticed a pattern among the people Trump calls “low IQ,” Crockett pointed out, “They tend to be women, and they tend to be women of color.”
Kimmel then gave Crockett a playful sample of Trump’s “cognitive test,” showing her a picture of an elephant and asking, “Can you name this animal?” After she quickly answered, Kimmel laughed, “Wow, you’re gonna crush this.”
Crockett officially accepted Trump’s challenge before signing off, saying, “Oh, I absolutely accept it.”
Earlier this week, Kimmel poked fun at Trump’s apparent confusion between a cognitive test and an IQ test. “There’s only one way to find out,” the comedian said. “Let’s do it on TV — Donald Trump vs. Jasmine Crockett.”
If Kimmel gets his wish, this “IQ showdown” might just become one of the most-watched — and talked about — TV events in political comedy history.
