Kelly Clarkson has announced the postponement of the remaining August dates of her Las Vegas “Studio Sessions” residency at the Colosseum in Caesars Palace, citing a family medical emergency as the reason for her abrupt hiatus.

The three-time Grammy Award winner took to social media on Wednesday to share that her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, and the father of her two children, has been battling an ongoing illness throughout the past year. Clarkson emphasized the need to prioritize her children’s well-being during this challenging time.

“Unfortunately, I need to postpone the remainder of the August Studio Session dates in Las Vegas,” Clarkson wrote in her statement. “While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children’s father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them. I am sincerely sorry to everyone who bought tickets to the shows and I so appreciate your grace, kindness and understanding.”

Originally scheduled to perform eight shows in August, Clarkson will now pause after the first four dates, with new arrangements to be announced for the postponed performances.

Fans who purchased tickets will be contacted with rescheduling options and refund details by the venue’s ticketing office.

This marks the second time in recent months that Clarkson has delayed parts of her Vegas residency. In June, she postponed the opening performances on July 4 and 5 to avoid risking serious damage to her vocal cords after intensive rehearsals.

At that time, her team cited concerns over “vocal strain” and assured audiences that those shows would be rescheduled once Clarkson had sufficiently recovered.

Despite the interruption to her Las Vegas run, Clarkson remains busy with her broadcasting commitments. Later this month, she will premiere “Songs & Stories with Kelly Clarkson,” a four-part special on NBC.

Debuting August 19 at 10 p.m. ET/PT, the series will feature in-depth conversations and performances alongside high-profile guests including Gloria Estefan, the Jonas Brothers, Lizzo and Teddy Swims. Subsequent episodes will air August 26, September 2 and September 9.

Clarkson’s next confirmed return to Caesars Palace is now slated for November 7, when she will resume her Studio Sessions residency.

In the meantime, the singer-songwriter and daytime talk-show host will focus on her family, expressing gratitude for the support and understanding she has already received from ticket holders and fans worldwide.
