Ruby Rose has recently made a serious allegation on the social media platform Threads, claiming that Katy Perry sexually assaulted her at a nightclub in Melbourne.
Rose made the move while responding to a post shared by Complex, which highlighted Perry’s reaction to Justin Bieber’s headlining performance at the Coachella music festival.
In her post, Ruby Rose stated that the incident took place at the Spice Market nightclub in Melbourne and added that what Perry thinks “doesn’t matter.” Following the claim, Katy Perry’s team quickly issued a response. In a statement, Perry’s representative shot down the allegations, calling them flat-out false and dangerous.
The statement also noted that Rose has a history of making serious accusations on social media, which have been denied by those involved.

Rose says the incident went down when she was in her early 20s. Responding to a fan who asked for more details, she called it shocking and deeply uncomfortable. She also shared that at the time, she played it off as a “funny drunk story” because she didn’t know how else to process or handle what had happened.
Rose also claimed that Katy Perry later agreed to help her with obtaining a U.S. visa, which is why she stayed quiet about it for years. However, she said she had previously hinted to others that Perry was “not a good person.”
Now 40, Ruby Rose said it took nearly two decades for her to speak publicly about the incident. She pointed out how deep trauma and sexual assault can mess with a person and how long it can take to find the courage to speak out. She also made clear she’s not looking to file an official report, saying she simply wanted to share her experience.
Meanwhile, Katy Perry was spotted at Coachella with her partner, Justin Trudeau. The two were present during Justin Bieber’s April 11 headlining set. Perry also shared a video on social media reacting to Bieber watching YouTube videos on stage and singing along.
