‘Tell Me Lies’ Stars Promise a Finale That Will Leave Fans Reeling

Bree takes center stage as “Tell Me Lies” stars tease heartbreak, shock twists and a season 3 ending they say fans won’t forget.

Season three of Tell Me Lies has steadily raised the emotional stakes, but episode six makes one thing clear: this chapter belongs to Bree.

Played by Cat Missal, the character finds herself pulled between old wounds, dangerous truths and feelings she can no longer ignore — all while the show races toward a finale the cast says will “blow up the internet.”

In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Missal opens up about Bree’s turbulent journey, which has expanded significantly this season.

After spending much of season two entangled in a destructive affair with her professor Oliver, Bree is now forced to confront the fallout — not just emotionally, but morally.

Episode six delivers one of Bree’s most intense moments yet when she goes to Oliver’s home hoping for answers. Instead, she finds his wife, Marianne. What follows is a quiet but devastating conversation, during which Bree reveals that Oliver’s latest student target, Amanda, is only 17 years old.

Rather than turning to university officials, Bree chooses a more personal path — a choice Missal admits even she can’t fully explain.

“I really don’t know,” Missal says of why Bree avoids going to administration. “Maybe she has a problem with authority. She likes the chaos.”

That chaos also shows up in Bree’s complicated love life. While she remains in a relationship with Evan in the college timeline — and is married to him in 2015 — the episode digs deeper into her undeniable connection with his best friend, Wrigley.

A flashback reveals how long their feelings have simmered beneath the surface, leading to a kiss charged with both desire and vulnerability.

Missal explains that what draws Bree and Wrigley together isn’t just attraction, but shared pain. Wrigley is navigating deep grief, while Bree carries scars from a fractured childhood and years of self-reliance. “There’s a relatability between them,” Missal says.

“There’s something unspoken that exists beneath everything.”

That emotional honesty stands in contrast to the security Evan offers — something Marianne subtly encourages when she tells Bree to choose someone who loves her more. Missal believes those words play a role in Bree’s eventual decision to marry Evan.

“Her choice was already based on security,” she says, “and that kind of gave her the push she needed.”

While Bree’s storyline dominates episode six, the looming finale has the entire cast buzzing. Costa D’Angelo, who plays Alex, doesn’t hold back when teasing what’s ahead. “It’s insane,” he says. “Go for a walk. Get some sun. Take a few laps after it ends.”

Missal echoes the warning with a laugh, joking that viewers should have their “beta blockers” nearby. Whatever happens in the final two episodes, it’s clear emotions will run high and conversations online will explode.

With six episodes now streaming on Hulu, Tell Me Lies is barreling toward an ending that promises shock, heartbreak and consequences that may change everything — especially for Bree.
