The long-running tension between 50 Cent and Sean “Diddy” Combs found new life this week after reports surfaced that Diddy’s team had once again sought a presidential pardon from Donald Trump. While the president is reportedly not considering the request, 50 Cent made it clear he wants to keep it that way.

The G-Unit founder reacted publicly after spotting a Variety headline detailing the reported outreach to Trump. Diddy is currently serving a 50-month federal sentence after being convicted on two counts of violating the Mann Act. According to the report, Trump has no plans to intervene, but that didn’t stop 50 Cent from weighing in.

Posting the headline on Instagram, 50 Cent used the moment to remind Trump of Diddy’s past criticism. In his caption, the rapper suggested that the president was surprised to hear about “very nasty things” Diddy allegedly said about him in the past. The post was part trolling, part warning — and fully on brand for the outspoken mogul.

This isn’t the first time 50 Cent has involved himself in the conversation. Trump previously acknowledged that Diddy’s representatives had contacted him about a pardon. He also recalled that the music executive had been publicly critical of him, despite the two once knowing each other socially.

Those comments date back to a 2020 appearance on The Breakfast Club, where Diddy made his opposition to Trump clear. At the time, he said that “white men like Trump need to be banished” and stressed that removing Trump from office was his top priority.

Following the conclusion of Diddy’s racketeering and sex trafficking trial last summer, 50 Cent openly vowed to make sure Trump remembered those remarks. While Trump has indicated he is already aware of Diddy’s stance, 50 Cent appears determined to keep the issue front and center.

For now, the reported pardon request remains just that — a request. But with celebrity rivalries, politics, and social media colliding, the story shows no signs of fading quietly.
