Kim Kardashian’s new Hulu drama ‘All’s Fair’ gets slammed by critics despite record-breaking viewership, calling it “soulless” and “glossy but empty.”

Kim Kardashian’s latest TV venture isn’t getting the reaction she hoped for.
The reality star and business mogul’s first major scripted role — as a high-profile Los Angeles divorce attorney in All’s Fair — premiered this week, and critics are not being kind.
Created by American Horror Story and Glee mastermind Ryan Murphy, the Hulu drama had all the makings of a hit: a powerhouse female cast featuring Naomi Watts, Glenn Close, Niecy Nash, Sarah Paulson, and Teyana Taylor. But despite the big names, the show is being described as “empty,” “soulless,” and even “existentially terrible.”
All’s Fair centers on an all-female law firm representing the rich and famous in Hollywood divorces — think luxury offices, designer suits, and endless drama. Kardashian plays Allura Grant, a glamorous lawyer who balances power, ambition, and scandal. The series was meant to showcase a bold, female-driven narrative about independence and control in a man’s world.
Unfortunately, many critics say the execution doesn’t live up to the promise. The Hollywood Reporter called the show “television of nothingness,” criticizing its paper-thin characters and predictable storytelling. The Guardian went even further, calling it “fascinatingly, incomprehensibly, existentially terrible.”
Show initially received a 0% rating on Rotten Tomatoes (it now sits at around 5%), indicating almost universally negative reviews.
Despite these terrible reviews, audiences have tuned in in droves. All’s Fair became the biggest scripted series debut on Hulu in three years, garnering 3.2 million global views in its first three days.
January 21, co-star Naomi Watts has spoken positively about Kardashian’s performance, calling her “impressive” and praising her professionalism on set.

theparrotofdoom: Holy shit! This is the comment equivalent of Morpheus introducing neo to the matrix. I now can’t unsee this reality, and it angers me.
yourenotmymom_yet: Right? It sucks how much he went off the deep-end because I really did love a number of his projects pre-2020. It’s baffling to me that the same guy that gave us Pose and The Normal Heart also created this slop and all of the absurdly exploitative Monster seasons.
Kardashian responded to the negative criticism in a sarcastic manner a few days after the premiere. She shared screenshots of several fan tweets in an Instagram post mocking the poor reviews, sarcastically captioning it: “Have you seen the most critically acclaimed show of the year!?!?!”.
Despite the harsh reviews, All’s Fair is likely to remain a streaming hit for the moment. With Murphy’s signature mix of glamour and chaos — plus Kardashian’s undeniable influence — the show could easily find a cult audience.
And if history tells us anything, Kim Kardashian doesn’t quit easily. Whether critics love it or hate it, All’s Fair has succeeded in one major way: it’s got everyone talking.
