Teresa Palmer is stepping into mythic territory, joining Amazon’s “God of War” series as Sif, a key figure in the epic family tale.

Teresa Palmer is officially heading to the world of gods and monsters.
The actress has been cast in Amazon Prime Video’s highly anticipated live-action adaptation of God of War, Topthreeus.com has learned, adding another major name to the growing ensemble.
Palmer will portray Sif, the wife of Thor and a prominent Aesir goddess in the video game franchise. While Amazon has not commented publicly on the casting, sources confirm her role.
The choice adds an interesting layer to the series, as Ryan Hurst—recently announced as Kratos—previously voiced Thor in the hit game God of War: Ragnarök.
Known for balancing intensity with emotional depth, Palmer brings a strong résumé to the series. Her film credits include Hacksaw Ridge, The Fall Guy, I Am Number Four, and Knight of Cups.
On television, she has starred in A Discovery of Witches, The Clearing, and Mix Tape. She’ll next appear in the Australian drama The Family Next Door.
Amazon’s God of War series draws from the franchise’s two most recent games, shifting focus from pure action to a deeply personal story. At its heart is Kratos, a battle-hardened god learning how to raise his ten-year-old son, Atreus.
Together, they journey to scatter the ashes of Kratos’ wife, Faye, while confronting monsters, fate, and their own emotional scars. The story explores parenthood, grief, and growth—both human and divine.
The series has been years in the making. Originally greenlit in 2022, the project saw a major creative shift in late 2024 when Ronald D. Moore took over as showrunner following the departure of Rafe Judkins. Moore also serves as writer and executive producer under Tall Ship Productions, with Frederick E.O. Toye directing the first two episodes.
Produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios alongside PlayStation Productions, God of War is shaping up to be one of Amazon’s most ambitious adaptations yet—with Palmer’s casting adding new star power and emotional weight to the mythic journey.
