Footage from Justin Timberlake’s 2024 DWI arrest has been released after the singer previously filed suit earlier this month against Sag Harbor Village in an effort to block it from becoming public.

A judge authorized the release of the bodycam footage earlier today, noting that a settlement had been reached between attorneys for Timberlake and the Sag Harbor Village Police Department on Long Island.

Timberlake had initially secured a temporary hold on the footage, but according to newly filed court documents, he agreed that its release “did not constitute an unwarranted invasion of personal privacy.”

The bodycam footage, which surfaced Friday evening via Sag Harbor Express, shows officers pulling Timberlake over after observing him veer across lanes. When asked what he was doing, he responds, “I’m on a world tour. Hard to explain. A world tour. I’m Justin Timberlake.”

Additional footage captures officers instructing Timberlake through a series of field sobriety tests.

In the video, he acknowledges feeling “a little nervous” and says “my heart is racing” as he attempts to follow directions, including walking in a straight line, where he appears to struggle.

Earlier in March, Timberlake filed suit against the Sag Harbor Village Police Department, Police Chief Robert Drake and the Village of Sag Harbor, arguing that the footage’s release would cause “severe and irreparable harm” to his reputation and subject him to “public ridicule and harassment.”

Timberlake was initially arrested in June 2024 after officers observed him weaving out of his lane and failing to stop at a stop sign. The arresting officer reported that his eyes were “bloodshot” and “glassy,” and that he performed poorly on field sobriety tests. Timberlake maintained that he had consumed only one martini and declined to take a Breathalyzer test.

Three months later, he pleaded guilty to a reduced charge and was ordered to pay a $500 fine along with completing 25 to 40 hours of community service. He had originally been charged with a misdemeanor count of driving while intoxicated, before pleading guilty to the lesser offense of driving while ability impaired.

The incident arrives amid an otherwise longstanding career for Timberlake, who first rose to prominence as a member of *NSYNC before launching a successful solo run that produced chart-topping hits including “Cry Me a River” and “Can’t Stop the Feeling!” In addition to music, he has maintained a steady presence in film, further shaping his profile as a crossover entertainer.

While high-profile DWI cases involving celebrities are not uncommon in the U.S., they often carry reputational consequences beyond the legal outcome. In Timberlake’s case, the release of the footage adds a new chapter to the incident, even as the legal matter itself has already been resolved.

The episode also comes as Timberlake continues professional commitments, including touring, raising questions about how the moment may factor into his public image moving forward.
