Early on, the case looked like a straightforward murder. But the deeper the story went, the shakier that theory got. Especially after “The Denny’s Plan,” it became pretty clear that things are way more complicated than anyone initially thought.
Floyd: A Man Emotionally Broken
Floyd has always been someone who desperately needed love and connection. He looked for emotional support from his wife Carol, his friend Clark, and his stepson Richard. But instead of holding him up, those relationships slowly wore him down.

There are hints in the story that Floyd was on medication, and an overdose could have seriously messed with his heart. It’s possible he got so overwhelmed that he intentionally took too much — and that was it.

Carol’s Role: Innocent or Responsible?
Carol may not have pulled any trigger, but her hands aren’t exactly clean here either. One of the biggest question marks is the recumbent bicycle spotted near the crime scene.
Some viewers think Carol went there to check on Floyd — and found him already dead. Instead of calling it a suicide, she may have tampered with the scene to make it look like a murder.
Even if she didn’t kill him, that kind of cover-up is its own kind of guilty.

With the finale just a week out, everyone’s on edge. Will the truth finally come out? What actually caused Floyd’s death? And will anybody answer for it?
“DTF St. Louis” took what looked like a simple whodunit and turned it into something genuinely messy and human. Now it all comes down to the ending — and fans are not ready.
