Paramount Pictures made a strong impression at CinemaCon with the first trailer for “Jackass: Best and Last” — the fifth and final entry in a franchise that has spent more than two decades delivering reliable crowd-pleasing spectacle to theater audiences. The film is slated for a June 26 release.

Franchise co-creator and principal cast member Johnny Knoxville appeared in person in Las Vegas to present exclusive in-room footage, available only to CinemaCon delegates. In the new material, the full cast invited audiences to what they called “our last and best Jackass film ever.”

The footage opens with cast members asking one another, “How are you feeling?” — to which Chris Pontius deadpans: “I don’t know, I’m not in touch with my emotions.” This installment also introduces a new cast member: a robot named Larry, who arrives prepped to perform a robotic prostate exam. That’s not a finger — it’s a claw. Rounding out the preview: goats, a fire-engulfed escape room, and everything else the franchise has always promised and delivered.

“Jackass” traces its origins to the MTV series that ran from 2000 to 2001, created by Knoxville, Jeff Tremaine, and Spike Jonze. Built around a collective of performers — including Steve-O, Bam Margera, and the late Ryan Dunn — the show brought a raw, DIY skate-punk energy to increasingly dangerous and ambitious stunts, helping establish one of Hollywood’s most improbable theatrical comedy franchises.

“Jackass: The Movie” brought the concept to cinemas in 2002, grossing over $79 million worldwide on a modest budget. Subsequent entries — “Jackass Number Two” (2006), “Jackass 3D” (2010), and “Jackass Forever” (2022), which introduced a new generation of performers and earned over $80 million globally — kept the franchise commercially viable across generations. Including spin-off projects such as “Bad Grandpa,” the franchise has generated more than $500 million worldwide in cumulative box office.

Returning for the finale are Steve-O, Chris Pontius, Dave England, Wee Man (Jason Acuña), Preston Lacy, Ehren McGhehey, Poopies (Sean McInerney), Zach Holmes, Jasper, Dark Shark (Compston Wilson), and Rachel Wolfson.

The film is directed by Jeff Tremaine and produced alongside Spike Jonze and Johnny Knoxville. Executive producers include Shanna Newton, Greg Iguchi, Pete Chiappetta, Anthony Tittanegro, and Andrew Lary. “Jackass: Best and Last” is a production of Paramount Pictures, MTV Entertainment Studios, and Domain Entertainment.

“Jackass: Best and Last” comes as the industry closely watches the theatrical comeback of R-rated comedy. “Jackass Forever’s” $80 million run demonstrated that the franchise’s core audience remains engaged and willing to buy tickets. As a final installment, the film is positioned to serve as a strong summer opener for Paramount — a proven draw that sells itself on name recognition alone.
