Rock icon Jack White has escalated his ongoing war of words with President Donald Trump, publicly declaring him “the worst American of all time” — a broadside that lands as White rides momentum from a last-minute Coachella set and a newly confirmed world tour.
White posted an image of Trump on Instagram with the phrase “the worst American of all time” printed across his forehead. In his caption, he wrote: “As I’ve stated before — he’s already got worst President in the history of America on lock, but I’m gonna go ahead and take the honor of pronouncing trump ‘The Worst American of All Time.'”
White urged his followers to copy and share the image, attaching the hashtag TWAAT — a pointed acronym for “The Worst American of All Time.”

This is far from the first flashpoint between White and the Trump administration. When White labeled Trump “an embarrassment to American history” in 2025, White House Communications Director Steven Cheung responded sharply, dismissing the musician as “a washed up, has-been loser posting drivel on social media because he clearly has ample time on his hands due to his stalled career.”
That attack did nothing to slow White down. Since then, he has grown louder and more frequent in his criticism of the administration.
The latest salvo follows a string of politically charged posts. Last week, White took direct aim at Trump after the president shared an AI-generated image depicting himself as Jesus Christ. White addressed evangelical Christians pointedly, suggesting that the figure they had long warned would present himself as Christlike — and usher in end times — had now arrived.

When the Iran War broke out, White turned to sarcasm, mocking Trump for declaring war while wearing a USA trucker hat. He noted pointedly that Don Jr. and Barron would not be the ones fighting or dying — that burden, he wrote, would fall on other people’s children.
Despite the White House’s claims of a “stalled career,” the White Stripes founder shows no signs of slowing down professionally. Following his surprise Coachella appearance, White confirmed a new world tour.
His UK run kicks off in late August with two nights at the Eventim Apollo in London, followed by stops in Bristol, Newcastle and Belfast, before concluding with two shows at the 3Olympia in Ireland.
White’s increasingly vocal political stance stands out at a moment when many of music’s biggest names have remained conspicuously silent on the Trump administration — making his voice one of the most prominent and unfiltered in the industry.
