In a sad development from Hollywood, veteran television actress Dolores “Dee” Freeman has passed away at the age of 66. She had been battling stage 4 lung cancer and died on April 2, 2026.
According to a statement released by her family, Freeman faced her illness with “bravery and fearlessness.” The news of her passing was shared on her Instagram profile, where her family expressed deep sorrow and said she passed away peacefully.
The family continued, “Thank you to everyone who supported Dee during her battle. It truly meant so much to her to see how many people cared and were rooting for her. We know Dee is in heaven now, still the same powerful force she always was—only now with angel wings. Rest in peace, Dee.”
Born on June 6, 1959, in Louisiana, Freeman served in the United States Marine Corps for six years before pursuing a career in entertainment. She later moved to Japan, where she worked as a radio DJ.
Freeman began her acting career in 1995 with an appearance on the TV show “Coach.” Over the years, she built an impressive resume, appearing in popular series such as “The Young and the Restless,” “Sistas,” “Seinfeld,” “The X-Files,” “Dexter,” “Bones,” “ER,” and “Shameless.”
From 2010 to 2015, she portrayed Ribina Champagne in the parody reality show “Pretty the Series,” earning recognition for her performance.
In recent years, Freeman had been working on adapting her one-woman show “Poison Gun” into a novel inspired by her family’s history.
She is survived by her children, Amber and Shane, an ex-husband, and several exotic pets.
