HBO Max is officially launching in the U.K. and Ireland on March 26, bringing HBO hits, DC shows, movies, and live sports under one app.
After years of waiting, HBO Max is officially crossing the pond.
Warner Bros. Discovery has announced that its standalone streaming service will launch in the U.K. and Ireland on March 26, giving viewers direct access to some of TV’s most talked-about shows, major movie releases, and live sports — all in one place.
For U.K. and Irish audiences, the launch marks a big shift. Until now, HBO content has largely been scattered across different platforms. HBO Max aims to pull everything together, offering shows and films from HBO, Warner Bros. Pictures, Warner Bros. Television, DC Studios, and Max Originals in a single app.
Subscribers will be able to choose from four different plans, depending on budget and viewing habits. Two ad-supported tiers will be priced at £4.99 and £5.99 per month, with the higher option allowing downloads and access to newer releases.
For those who prefer an uninterrupted experience, ad-free plans will cost £9.99 or £14.99 per month, with the top tier offering 4K Ultra HD and Dolby Atmos where available.
Sports fans are also getting a major upgrade. TNT Sports will move from the Discovery+ app to HBO Max on launch day, bringing live coverage of Premier League soccer, UEFA Champions League matches, Grand Slam tennis, major cycling tours, and even the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
TNT Sports will remain available as a standalone subscription or as a bolt-on for £30.99 per month.
When it comes to scripted content, HBO Max is leaning hard into its strongest cards. Viewers will have access to both seasons of Euphoria, House of the Dragon, and the full first season of Noah Wyle’s medical drama The Pitt.
DC fans can also look forward to Lanterns, the upcoming Green Lantern series.
The platform’s deep library will include fan favorites like Friends, Succession, The Sopranos, and Game of Thrones, making it a one-stop shop for binge-watchers. More big titles are already on the way, including Season 3 of Euphoria, Season 2 of The Pitt, and the highly anticipated Harry Potter TV series, set to debut in 2027.
Movies will also be part of the lineup, though viewers on the lowest-priced plan won’t have access to newer blockbuster releases like Superman or A Minecraft Movie.
HBO Max will be available through its app, hbomax.com, and launch partners Sky and Amazon, across TVs, phones, and tablets. Pre-registration opens March 12 on the App Store and Google Play.
After launching in the U.S. in 2020 and expanding to more than 110 territories worldwide, HBO Max’s U.K. debut signals a new era for streaming fans ready to have it all — shows, movies, and sports — in one place.
